Thank you, Nicole. You are bringing an interesting point to feed this eternal debate "Are our choices predetermined?". In my opinion, saying free will does not exist is opening the door to "it is ok to be manipulated". I see free will like having the option to say "no" based on our own experiences and the anticipation of potential harm that the choice may lead to. Social media are purposely playing with our biology in the same way alcohol, drugs and addicting activities like gambling are acting on the brain by refraining the will to say "no" to it.
Here I'm not saying that absolute free will ever existed but overtaking and silently leading the behavior of individuals for one's personal and financial gain is particularly wrong.
